Featured this year:

“Riverside Rest” The Kim and Randy Shultz home on the Little River featuring two buildings that were connected to create one fascinating home.   During the renovation everything in their home was repurposed.  Siding became interior  ceiling and walls and galvanized pipes became stair rails.  Many original home items were retained such as  claw foot tub.  Holiday greenery will provide a festive touch.

“Vin Mercedi Maison” (Wine Wednesday House) The Kris and Doug Dickman home is recently completed but features many antique touches such as a 100-year-old wooden cabin door used as a kitchen island and a bar fashioned from the front of a Chevy truck.   The Dickman’s are the owners of All Good Things Landscape and Garden Center and are sure to wow visitors with the Christmas décor inside as well as outside.

“Way Mews” The Debbie and Richard Way cantilever barn home located next to the Barn Events Center of the Smokies is sure to please holiday revelers as well as history buffs.  The barn itself dates back to the late 1800’s and has been moved to land occupied by the Native Americans 4,000 years ago.  Richard has ingeniously converted this antique barn into a modern home.

“Historic Oaks” The Kathryn and Rick Barrow home is built on land originally deeded to John Myers by Governor John Sevier after the War of 1812 and passed down in the family until the Barrows fell in love with the twelve old oak trees on the property and purchased it from the Meyers family.  The home will be decorated as it would have been in the 1800’s and will feature copies of the original property deeds with Andrew H. Myers and Marilyn Myers Byrd present to answer any questions about the property’s history.

“The Abbey” The recently transformed business owned by Janice and Steve Fillmore from a chapel into a pub features an assortment of exciting micro-brewery beers and wine.  The Abbey will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland and may offer guest a brief respite and a chance to wet their whistle as the tour progresses.

The Heritage Center will be the beginning point and ending destination on the tour and will feature light snacks, chances on an “opportunity basket” and an access to the model train set up in the auditorium.

This fundraiser is being organized by the Heritage Center Guild as the second of two large fund- raisers for 2018 to aid in our educational programs.
