Pete Simmons was named the Maryville Downtown Association executive director.
Simmons comes to the Association with a lot of nonprofit experience, having served on boards and in leadership roles with the Blount County Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Blount County, Blount County Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley, and many more. He’s worked on multiple fundraisers throughout the years, and he’s very involved in the community.
A member of Leadership Blount’s class of 2000 and a resident of the College Hill Historic District, Pete is familiar with Downtown Maryville and has a vested interest in seeing it thrive. For 25 years, Pete was very successful as the President of ProMedia, so he knows the ins and outs of running a small business.
Charlene DeSha is training Pete on the nuances of our executive director position, and introducing him around town and at Main Street committee meetings.
