King University announced today that it has earned the 2018-2019 Military Friendly® School designation by Victory Media, whose media brands include G.I. Jobs®, Military Spouse, and Military Friendly®. Continuing its mission to provide veterans and their spouses with the finest choices for secondary education, Victory Media has released the 2018-19 Military Friendly® Schools list. The Military Friendly® Schools list has come to set the standard for higher education institutions to provide the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses. This prestigious list provides a comprehensive guide for veterans and their families using data sources from federal agencies, veteran students and proprietary survey information from participating organizations.

“We are again honored that King has been designated as a Military Friendly® School,” says Jon Harr, interim vice president for Enrollment Management at King. “Military students bring leadership skills to the classroom along with an exceptional set of experiences. King recognizes the unique needs of military personnel from deployment policies to funding assistance, through completing the Veterans Administration (VA) funding process and securing federal financial aid, to registering for classes.”

According to Victory Media, “The Military Friendly® designation creates better outcomes for veterans. By setting a standard, then promoting it, we provide positive reinforcement for American organizations to invest in programs that improve the lives of veterans. That’s good for veterans, good for the organizations and good for America.”

The 2018-2019 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine. The list can also be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Victory Media with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
