On Saturday, October 10, Jeepism welcomed MC2, Inc., to Townsend. This not-for-profit production entity is producing a mini-series about the creation of the Jeep in 1940-41. Three hand-built Bantam BRC-60 Jeeps are being constructed for the mini-series, which will trace the history of the Bantam Jeep and its importance in winning World War II.
The high-energy, fact-based drama will be aired on one of the major cable networks in the fall of 2016. The MC2 organization felt that Jeepism was a perfect fit to showcase their work-to-date and provide visibility for their project.
Bantam hats and apparel were sold at the event, with proceeds from the television airing, DVD sales and merchandising benefitting Veterans organizations and off-road/4X4 associations.
The front grassy area of Jeepism surely caught everyone’s attention with the historical war-era Jeeps and Jeepism’s own 1954 M38A1 (aka Mary Jane).
The Museum of Aviation in Pigeon Forge brought two early-1940s Jeeps to complement the days’ activities. A wet, chilly ride to Cades Cove and Parson’s Branch also brought a big crowd to the store with a crowd of approximately 50 Jeeps.
Jeepism will continue to provide updates on the production and play the DVD teaser in the store. Another visit, including one of the Bantam reproductions, is scheduled for May 2016.
