Blount County Schools is proud to celebrate the success and growth of its Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program, which offers 35 comprehensive Programs of Study designed to prepare students for high-skill, high-demand careers and postsecondary education.

From healthcare and engineering to digital design and agriculture, Blount County Schools’ CTE program connects classroom learning with real-world experience, giving students the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in today’s ever-changing workforce.

The full list of the 35 programs of study aligned with regional workforce needs and national industry trends include:Accounting, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial & Mechanical Systems, Audio/Visual Production, Automotive Collision Repair, Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair, Banking and Finance, Business Management, Coding, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice & Correction, Culinary Arts, Cybersecurity, Diagnostic Services, Digital Arts & Design Emergency Services, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Environmental & Natural Resource Management, Horticulture Science, Human & Social Sciences, Leadership in Government (ROTC), Marketing Management, Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Systems, Mechatronics, Office Management, Residential/Commercial Construction, Sport & Human Performance, Structural Systems, Supply Chain Management, Teaching as a Profession (K–12), Technology, Therapeutic Services, Veterinary & Animal Science, Web Design, and Welding.

An essential component of the CTE experience is the embedded course content to give  students the opportunity to earn recognized industry credentials, giving them a tangible advantage in college and career readiness. Industry credentials offered in Blount County Schools aligned to our Programs of Study, including but not limited to: Adobe Certified Associate, Autodesk Inventor, Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), CompTIA IT Fundamentals / ITF+, Hootsuite Platform Certification & Social Marketing Certification, ICAR Non-Structural Technician Pro Level 1 & ICAR Refinish Technician 1, NC3 Snap-On Multimeter Certification & Precision Measurement, NCCER Core Curriculum, OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 General Industry or Construction, ServSafe Food Manager Certification, Greenlee Basic Electrical Installation, and EPA.

Additionally, Blount County Schools CTE programs of study are structurally aligned with our strong postsecondary partnerships:  Pellissippi State Community College, Maryville College, Roane State Community College, and the Tennessee College of Applied Technology–Knoxville. Students may earn dual credit or dual enrollment  while in high school that counts toward college credit at these postsecondary institutions. These postsecondary opportunities while in high school allow allow students to reduce the time and cost of postsecondary education.

Lastly, Blount County Schools works closely with local employers and community organizations to ensure each program aligns with current and future workforce needs. Through advisory councils, internships, and work-based learning, students gain hands-on experience and valuable professional connections—often leading directly to college and career opportunities after graduation.
