BQ3980 Lubricant and Test Fluid
BrakeQuip has recently introduced a new fluid for use in our BQ1005 Series crimpers (the “Green Machines”) as well as our BQ1013A Air / Hydraulic Brake Hose Pressure Testers. Developed in close collaboration with the equipment manufacturer and a US-based leading industrial lubricants manufacturer, this unique fluid offers many advantages over the glycol-based antifreeze previously recommended by BrakeQuip:
- Improved lubrication, which reduces wear on moving parts and also provides significantly smoother operation and performance, during both crimping and retraction
- Better heat-transfer characteristics
- Fluid “blows out” easily after the pressure test
No harm will be done if the old fluid and the new fluid are blended, but for best performance with the new fluid, BrakeQuip recommends draining out the old and filling the reservoir with the new. You do not need to switch to the new fluid if you are happy with the old fluid. BrakeQuip is shipping all new machines with the new fluid inside.
BQ3980 Lubricant and Test Fluid is sold by the gallon and is available now from BrakeQuip and our BrakeQuip Master Distributors worldwide.
BQ404 One-Handed Ratchet Tube Bender
Quick to assemble and easy to use, this new bender handles all light-walled copper, steel, and stainless steel tubing from 3/16″ to 1/2″ in diameter, providing bends of up to 180°. It can bend tubes directly on the vehicle and does not mark the tube.

BQ302-BK Braided Stainless Brake Hose in Solid Black
Around the middle of August we will have available our stainless braided brake hose in solid black with a white lay line.

Discontinued Fittings
A few fittings will be discontinued owing to lack of demand. In the list below, most of the stainless steel fittings are for motorcycle applications and are being phased out in favor of the corresponding Low Profile fittings. All fittings in this list are still in stock in limited quantities. Once current inventories are gone, they may remain available by special order, subject to reasonable minimum quantities.
