The connection that the horse has to healing is a true journey, not a destination. Much like that
of the grieving process, that is just what it says, a process not an event. This workshop will
provide information regarding the grief and loss issues of children, teens and families, while
incorporating the techniques of equine assisted grief counseling and art as avenues of listening
to those who are grieving. Participants will have the opportunity for hands on learning, while
being able to incorporate learned techniques into their professional areas. Learned techniques
are ideal for office settings as well as equine assisted therapy.
Ideal for: professionals in the field of therapy/counseling, teachers, school administrators,
guidance counselors, hospice personnel, psychiatrists, psychologists, those interested in field of
grief, loss, death, anticipatory grief and bereavement in our schools and communities.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR, KIMBERLY HENRY
As the Founder and Executive Director of Mane Support, working with the families who have
experienced a death or who are anticipating a death of someone they know, staff, and horses is
where Kimberly finds her passion for her life’s work. She also spends time speaking
internationally and teaching on the subject of equine assisted grief counseling as an adjunct
professor at Maryville College and the University of Tennessee.
