Haven House is partnering with Cynthia’s Natural Market to raise awareness about the health needs of those who face or have faced domestic violence and to raise support for Haven House, Inc. Cynthia’s Natural Market is a health foods store located at 532 E. Broadway Ave., in Maryville, TN, and the owner, Cynthia Warner, is dedicated to helping others through providing natural, organic products from environmentally friendly companies. Our relationship was forged as a result of our mutual understanding of how domestic violence negatively effects someone’s health.
Physical health consequences of domestic violence can include injury and death, gastrointestinal problems, chronic pain, sleeping and eating disorders, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, miscarriage, and/or unwanted pregnancies.
Psychological ramifications can include depression, suicidal thoughts and attempts, lowered self-esteem, post-traumatic stress disorder, and/or alcohol and drug abuse.
Cynthia Warner has extensive knowledge on this relationship between domestic violence and the damaging effects it has on one’s health. As a result of this knowledge and her passion to aid those who suffer from domestic abuse, she has offered to donate her time to provide free health consultation to clients of Haven House. She has also offered to donate a percentage of her proceeds from Cynthia’s Natural Market during the month of July to Haven House in order to promote freedom to those who fall victim to domestic violence.
