This spring, working adults in East Tennessee will have the opportunity to complete their associate, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from King University.

King offers programs specifically designed with the adult learner in mind through the University’s Graduate and Professional Studies & Online Programs (GPS) as well as numerous courses for students who wish to transition from an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree.

“Our GPS program is tailored to reduce the challenges facing the adult learner.  Time and access is often a barrier for students to finish their degree,” said John King, vice president of Development and Enrollment Management for King University.  “By offering classes in both convenient locations, one night per week, and in an online format, the working adult may obtain their degree in as little as 16 months and open the door for professional advancement.”

Adults who are beginning to pursue a college degree or who have completed fewer than 60 semester hours of coursework will benefit from participating in King’s Pathway program.  Offered at the University’s Bristol and Knoxville campuses, Pathway allows students to complete all general education and elective requirements, so they can smoothly transition into their degree coursework.

Recent expansion at King’s Knoxville campus has allowed for additional degree offerings for area residents. The spring 2014 GPS degree offerings for Knoxville-area residents’ degree options include Pathway, Bachelor of Science in Communication (COMM), Bachelor of Science in Psychology (PSYCH), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses (RN-BSN), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BIT), Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (BSCJ), Bachelor of Science in Health Administration (BSHA), and Master of Business Administration for Professionals (MBA). Also offered in Knoxville will be the post-baccalaureate program for Secondary Education (SecEd) for those seeking teaching licensure.

King also offers the BBA and RN-BSN degree program in both Morristown and Strawberry Plains, while students in Sevierville may study for their BBA.

Blount County and Harriman, Tenn., area residents now have the opportunity to earn their degree Business Administration or Nursing degree.

Students also now have the option of obtaining their King University degree online.  “We are excited to provide working adults with additional ways to obtain a quality degree and further their education,” said King.  “Our degree programs are intended to build knowledge and practice in the field, as well as foster professional integrity, and promote personal growth.”
