This spring, working adults in the Knoxville, Morristown, and Sevierville areas will have the opportunity to complete their associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degree from King University. King offers programs specifically designed with the adult learner in mind through the University’s Graduate and Professional Studies and Online Programs (GPS). Applications are now being accepted for spring 2018 enrollment.
New for spring 2018 is an English as a Second Language (ESL) licensure program available in an online format. The ESL is designed to be an addition to a teaching license. The online program is Tennessee approved and meets Virginia standards. Visit MEd.king.edu for details.
“It has never been a better time for working adults to return to school to pursue their degree,” says Kristi Reynolds, Assistant Vice-President of GPS Enrollment Management Knoxville. “Whether they attend one night a week or entirely online, students can complete their major coursework in as little as 16 months. This allows students the balance they need for work and family, and the opportunity to achieve a goal that could launch their careers in a whole new direction.”
Adults who are beginning to pursue a college degree or who want to transfer fewer than 60 semester hours of coursework will benefit from King’s Pathway program. Offered at the Knoxville campus and online, the Pathway program allows students to complete all general education and elective requirements to smoothly transition into their bachelor’s degree plan.
The spring 2018 degree offerings at the Knoxville campus include Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Elementary Education (K-6 licensure), Healthcare Administration, Communication, Psychology, and Nursing. Master’s degree programs offered are Business Administration, Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). A post-master’s certificate is available for the Family Nurse Practitioner concentration.
Nearby residents in Morristown have the opportunity to earn their bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Nursing. King’s Sevierville satellite location offers the Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Students also have the option of obtaining their King University degree online. “We are excited to provide working adults with additional, convenient ways to obtain a quality degree and further their education,” said Reynolds. “Our degree programs are intended to build knowledge and practice in the field, as well as foster professional integrity, and promote personal growth.”
Online degree options include Associate of Arts, bachelor’s degree programs in English, Business Administration, Communication, Criminal Justice, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, History, Information Technology, Nursing, Psychology, and Religious Studies, and master’s degree programs in Business Administration and Education in Instructional Leadership.
