BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Buechner (Beek-ner) Institute at King University will be hosting the second annual BuechnerFest at Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, N.C., May 30 through June 2, 2013. BuechnerFest will feature three days of enjoying and discussing the work and career of the award-winning writer and Presbyterian minister Frederick Buechner.

Roane State Community College will be hosting its annual Job Fair – 2013 for our current students and soon-to-be graduates. The event will be held at our Oak Ridge branch campus on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 2- 4:00 p.m. with set-up time being 1:00 until 2:00. This collaborative effort between the Placement Office and the multiple Career Preparation Programs hopes to connect our students graduating in May or August with area employers who have or may have vacancies to be filled in the future. It will also be a time for employers to link with our current students for Part time/temporary opportunities. Students from the following areas are being invited to meet with you.

Starting this year, rising high school juniors and seniors can enroll in a one-of-a-kind Maryville College summer course and receive three credit hours from the private liberal arts college located in East Tennessee.
The connection that the horse has to healing is a true journey, not a destination. Much like that of the grieving process, that is just what it says, a process not an event. This workshop will provide information regarding the grief and loss issues of children, teens and families, while incorporating the techniques of equine assisted grief counseling and art as avenues of listening to those who are grieving. Participants will have the opportunity for hands on learning, while being able to incorporate learned techniques into their professional areas. Learned techniques are ideal for office settings as well as equine assisted therapy.
Green is becoming the new “green” in business transportation, as municipal and commercial transportation leaders are discovering that propane, natural gas, biofuels and electric vehicles (EV) can have an immediate savings impact on their bottom line. The upcoming Tennessee Alternative Fuel Vehicle Roadshow, aims to spread this message, with a series of educational events to be held March 12-26th in Kingsport, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Memphis and Nashville.

Maryville, Tenn. – The Blount Partnership, Knox County, Innovation Valley, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty along with officials from ProNova Solutions, today announced the company has agreed to become the anchor tenant at the Pellissippi Place technology research and development park on the Oak Ridge Corridor located at the end of the Pellissippi Parkway in Alcoa, Tenn.
The Community Law School is a public education program sponsored by the Knoxville Bar Association that offers free seminars on areas of the law that concern every citizen. This program, formerly known as the “People’s Law School”, has been a great success, with over 5,000 graduates over the last seventeen years. Both sessions of the Community Law School will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the O’Connor Senior Center (611 Winona Street).
