The Great Smoky Mountains will be crawling with motor scooters and other “slow” bikes when the Smoky Mountain Crawl converges on Townsend, Tennessee June 19-21. Hundreds of scooter enthusiasts from all across the U.S. are expected to roll into Tremont Lodge and Resort near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park beginning Friday, June 19.

The three-day event is free to attend. Highlights include:

• Meet and greet bike show – 3 p.m., June 19 at Tremont Lodge and Resort

• Vendor booths and daily drawings – for free loot from some of the motorcycle industry’s premier businesses

• Chef-inspired southern food and hand-crafted specialty brews – served daily from local food trucks

• Guided and unguided rides – through some of the best riding roads in the country, with stops at must-see attractions and local businesses

The ribbons of roadway winding through East Tennessee serve as a popular summer playground for thrill seeking motorcyclists from all over the country. But, this will be the first time hundreds of scooters, with top speeds of 40 miles per hour, will attempt to “slow” crawl the curves of the infamous stretch of roadway known as “the dragon.”

Organizers of the Smoky Mountain Crawl are small business owners Greg Hatcher and Kevin Estep. The duo specializes in innovation, development and sales of custom, after-market motorcycle parts and accessories from their Seymour, Tennessee-based business MNNTHBX (Man-In-The-Box).
