STEMspark, a regional partnership of educational, business, scientific, and research institutions and organizations partnered with Graphic-FX to create the website, www.STEMspark.com, in order to provide a registry platform where STEM educators, students, and businesses can connect to share resources, lessons, and news.

Marilyn Roddy, Director of STEMspark East Tennessee STEM Hub, states the website is, “a convenient point of access for professional development, student opportunities, and opportunities for STEM support in the form of grants, scholarships and classroom materials. The website provides a jumping off point for conversation around STEM investment, emerging trends, and breaking news.”

STEMspark currently connects seven institutions of higher education and twenty-three school districts serving twelve counties surrounding Knox County to promote and support high quality STEM education in the East Tennessee region. The website provides a digital platform for STEM education collaboration across the region. The overall goal for the website is to leverage all available resources to amplify opportunities for students and businesses regionally.

Since its initial launch, the site has been a huge asset to STEMspark. Roddy states, “Graphic-FX researched STEM education and the important impacts it will have on our regional economy and our students’ futures. They translated that understanding into visual imagery and messaging that engages the user in a straightforward, user-friendly platform.”

By impacting K-12 STEM education, STEMspark and the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network hope to prepare students for pathways beyond high school that will lead to satisfying and well-compensated careers and to provide Tennessee businesses with graduates who are prepared for 21st century jobs. The website serves as the greatest tool to make this goal a reality. To view the website or for more information about STEMspark, visit: www.STEMspark.com.
