Describe what you do? I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach and the owner of Healthy Shift Wellness & Nutrition. Holistic health looks at the whole body, not just one component of it. Together, we focus on the role that nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and our community have on our health, and how small habit changes can improve our well-being and quality of life. I offer one-on-one coaching as well as group coaching programs and classes. The One-on-One coaching allows for a personalized approach and support that is aligned with the client’s specific needs. The group coaching programs and classes are designed to address the basic concepts of wellness and nutrition and include a variety of resources related to each topic. The group programs and classes are ideal as part of a school or business employee wellness program. The coaching programs are offered in-person and/or virtual depending on your location or needs.

How did you get started? I have always had a love for food, and that led to an understanding of the power that food has on our health. I have been an elementary educator in Blount County for over 20 years. Having this background, I felt drawn to continue teaching, but to a different audience. For the last two and a half years, I have worked to become a Certified Master Level Nutrition Consultant. I am looking forward to becoming a part of our community in a new and exciting way.

What is your background? My background and most of my career experience is in Psychology and Elementary Education, which I believe has prepared me well for a career as a wellness coach. I am a lifelong learner, and love to share trusted, up-to-date information on health and wellness topics. In the classroom, I learned over the years that the key to success is breaking down bigger goals into smaller chunks and to keep moving forward even if there is a setback. As a coach, I help others break down their goals into smaller, achievable habits and provide the support needed to keep moving forward towards a healthier lifestyle.

Describe your customers? My customers include anyone who wants to make better health and wellness a priority in their lives. Age doesn’t matter, nor does current health status. We will start where you are and move forward together.

What do you enjoy most about this business? I love being an advocate for living the best life possible. I am so excited that I get to share this journey with so many others and see their joy when they have success they couldn’t have imagined before.
