This feature is a question-and-answer session with a new Blount County Chamber member. So, here we go with our 194th visiting with Brian Coe, owner of Coe Appraisals which provides residential real estate appraisals for Blount and surrounding counites.

Tell me more about Coe Appraisals: At Coe, we provide property appraisals, estate appraisals, divorce appraisals, property tax disputes and other situations where an appraisal is needed.

What is your background? As chief appraiser, I have been involved in real estate since 2004, first in sales and later as a broker. I also served a two-year apprenticeship with Knoxville Appraisals and completed over 500 hours of appraisal education in addition to assisting with more than 250 appraisals.

What are three things you wish you knew when starting? First, working for yourself means doubling the amount of hours you work. Secondly, when you are a sole proprietor, there is no one else to blame. And finally, customers are a lot easier to find than everyone tells you.

What do you enjoy most about your business? I enjoy the freedom of not having a quota, an at-home office and being able to choose my clients.
