Mark Ziegler, President/CEO, Keith Troop, Executive Vice President/COO, Ron Honeycutt, Board Chairman and David Rupert, Vice Chairman represented Y-12 Federal Credit Union at the annual Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, DC.
The conference was an opportunity to network with over 3,000 credit union peers throughout the country and learn more about issues most critical to credit unions. The final day of the 2017 CUNA GAC culminated with an energetic group of credit union representatives from every state of the country ascending Capitol Hill to share the credit union story with national lawmakers. Y-12 Executives met with Senator Bob Corker, Senator Lamar Alexander and Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr.
The primary objective of the meetings with lawmakers was to address the concerns regarding regulatory burden and understanding the impact the regulations have on credit unions and their members. Mark Ziegler, President/CEO said, “The Government Affairs Conference provides a great opportunity for Credit Union volunteers and staff to meet with our elected officials to discuss issues of concern related to our Credit Union and its membership.”
