The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) recognized the achievements of top private park operators, state associations and industry volunteers during its annual Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo this week in Knoxville, Tennessee. Park of the Year awards were given to RV parks and resorts based on several criteria, including customer service, employee training, operational excellence, national directory ratings and community service.

A new documentary exploring the unique assets of the East Tennessee area and the challenges faced by communities and their residents will be debuted next week. “Tell Our Story: Our Legacy Matters” is presented by PlanET and produced by Academy and Emmy Award winning production company Milkhaus.
Oak Ridge, Tenn. – Hickory Construction, Inc. announced today that it has broken ground on the construction of a new church building for the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist congregation. The building has an expected completion date of summer 2014.
TOWNSEND, Tenn. – Just in time for tourism businesses across “The Peaceful Side of the Smokies” to ramp up for the weekend, the State of Tennessee has ironed out details for reopening the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, through a collaborative effort involving local governments in Sevier and Blount counties as well as a statement of cooperation from the State of North Carolina – all under the guidelines issues late last week by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
As part of the 2013-2014 Clayton Center for the Arts Season, pianist Emile Pandolfi will perform Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. in the Ronald and Lynda Nutt Theatre.
