The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) recognized the achievements of top private park operators, state associations and industry volunteers during its annual Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo this week in Knoxville, Tennessee. Park of the Year awards were given to RV parks and resorts based on several criteria, including customer service, employee training, operational excellence, national directory ratings and community service.

PlanET (Plan East Tennessee) has collected thousands of ideas about ways East Tennessee can grow stronger in the future. After several years of data collection and thousands of public comments, a clear message has emerged that prosperity in East Tennessee is tied to excellence in education, a healthier region, and great places that attract great companies and retain talented individuals. A new documentary exploring the unique assets of the East Tennessee area and the challenges faced by communities and their residents will be debuted next week. “Tell Our Story: Our Legacy Matters” is presented by PlanET and produced by Academy and Emmy Award winning production company Milkhaus.

Oak Ridge, Tenn. – Hickory Construction, Inc. announced today that it has broken ground on the construction of a new church building for the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist congregation. The building has an expected completion date of summer 2014.
