Maryville, Tenn. – More than 100 new jobs are coming to Blount County as Surface Igniter, LLC, the pioneer in the development of the silicon carbide igniter in 1969, is moving its headquarters and manufacturing operations to the Blount County Industrial Park in Maryville, Tenn.

Alcoa, Tenn. – To commemorate the Tennessee Operations 100-year anniversary, Alcoa Inc. will offer their centennial anniversary canned water for sale to the community and employees on Friday, August 16 in front of the North Plant administration building on North Wright Road. The sale will take place from 6 to 9 a.m. and from noon to 4 p.m.
NEW YORK – For the 10th consecutive year, King University has been named one of the “Best in the Southeast” by The Princeton Review, an education services company widely known for its test prep programs and college and graduate school guides. April Jopling and her son, Country Music Artist Jeff Jopling, will be hosting an open house on their beautiful 50 Acre Estate, Country Manor Acres, in Townsend, Tenn., on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. The open house will be hosted in conjunction with the Blount County Wedding Professionals Association, with a brief showcase concert by the Jeff Jopling Band, followed by a drawing for valuable prizes at the end of the evening, with the grand prize worth $1000.
BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University and Pellissippi State Community College have signed a reverse transfer agreement between the institutions. The reverse transfer program will be available to Pellissippi State students who have transferred to King University from Pellissippi State prior to the completion of their associate degree program.
